Biodiversity

Biodiversity

The term biodiversity has been derived from ‘bio’ and ‘diversity’. Diversity mans variety with a species and among species. Biodiversity is a measure of the variety of organisms present in different ecosystems. Formerly it was called ‘natural diversity’.

Explanation:

At least 10 million kids of organisms inhabit the earth but less than one third of these have been studied and catalogued (put in record) by biologist. Diversity among the earth’s organisms is more obvious than the fundamental unity of life. This diversity emerged as modified in organisms. All organisms share many biological characteristics. They are composed of one or more cells carry out metabolism and transfer energy with DNA. This diversity in life is seen in million of different types of living organisms.
